Across Roads Center for the Arts is celebrating Fall with workshops designed to appreciate the outdoors with guided Nature Journaling adventures and a bookbinding class to record your observations, drawings, and writing. Classes can be taken together or separately.
Elissa Campbell of Blue Roof Designs will teach how to make a Long-Stitch Journal that is a perfect companion for exploring outside. Saturday, September 21, from 10am-1pm.
Participants will learn basic bookbinding technique, receive a detailed handout and resource list, and leave with a completed journal with a cover of durable waterproof canvas and a lay-flat binding for easy writing and drawing. No previous experience is required and all materials and use of tools are included in the fee.

Rachel Sargent Mirus, Duxbury artist and biologist, will guide two Nature Journaling expeditions on Saturday Sept 21 and October 5, from 2-4pm.
Keeping a nature journal or field notebook is a fun way to learn aboutthe natural world through drawing and nature writing. This workshopwill focus on changes in fall foliage to introduce participants of allages and experiences to a foundational nature journaling frameworkthat can be tailored to any outdoor interests. Please bring your favorite notebook and writing/drawing and meet at the Grange Hall Cultural Center to sign in before moving to the site.
